Dental Copings
Copings is used by orthopedists in cases where the crown part of the tooth is destroyed so much that turning it under further prosthetics using crowns is not possible.Then, if the roots of the tooth are subject to therapeutic treatment, the dentist applies for Prosthetics copings, which can be either solid (cast), and collapsible and made from metal alloy or ceramics, depending on the type of non-removable denture.
We can distinguish several types of copings that differ in materials:
- Titanium-zirconium oxide and copings of precious metals have biocompatibility with human body and high-strength, do not cause allergic reactions and have excellent aesthetics.
- Cobalt-chromium copings is an excellent option in terms of price and quality, however, can cause an allergic reaction
- Ceramic creates a copings entirely of ceramics with high aesthetics, but the lack of durability, which is suitable only for anterior teeth
- Metal-ceramic copings has a metal base and external ceramic coating, high strength and good aesthetics
- Composite copings possess anexcellent esthetics.
